Los Angeles County fires disrupt production on Suits L.A., Grey's Anatomy, Fallout Season 2 and multiple TV shows: Reports

According to the latest reports, Los Angeles County fires have halted production on multiple TV series namely Suits L.A., Grey's Anatomy and Fallout Season 2. Wildfires intensified by gushing winds are ravaging several areas of Southern California including Altadena, Sylmar and Pacific Palisades.

As per a statement by FilmLA (the agency granting shoot permits in L.A.):

"The LA County Fire Department has specifically instructed that all permits issued for filming in the communities of Altadena, La Crescenta, La Canada/Flintridge and unincorporated Pasadena are withdrawn. Other permit revocations are possible."

The continuous burning has brought the air quality index to potentially harmful levels, thus local residents are all being evacuated to safer places. According to reports, over 10,000 acres of land have been damaged in and around Pacific Palisades and Malibu.


L.A. County fires halt production work of multiple TV shows

A local State of Emergency has been proclaimed and the permitting agency has further notified that:

"Personnel resources ordinarily available to support film production may not be available during the local State of Emergency."

With FilmLA overseeing the shooting of TV shows, multiple production units of CBS studios have been shut down including NCIS, NCIS: Origins, The Neighborhood, Poppa’s House and After Midnight.

As per Variety, Disney-20th Television run Grey's Anatomy has also been put to halt following the natural calamity in Los Angeles County. Moreover, Amazon had re-kindled the production of Fallout Season 2. But due to the unprecedented situation, shoot has been rescheduled to Friday.

As per a statement by NBC Universal, production on a number of shows has been halted namely Suits L.A., Hacks, Ted and Happy's Place. Film shootings did not suffer any disruption as most of the sets are reportedly outside of Los Angeles.Moreover, the AFI Awards luncheon, the BAFTA Tea and the Critics Choice Awards which were scheduled to be held in L.A. have also been postponed alongside several show and movie premieres.


Destruction following the Los Angeles wildfires

The L.A. wildfires have already taken a toll in Southern California leading to 5 casualties so fer, per Los Angeles Times.In Palisades 17,234 acres of land have been damaged and affected areas of Malibu as well.

An emergency situation has been raised with mandatory evacuation orders in the Hollywood Hills. Moreover, many buildings in and around Altadena and Pasadena have suffered damaged further leaving behind 10,600 acres of burnt land.

According to Los Angeles Times, firefighters are trying to take the blazes in control. However, winds are blowing at high speed leading to a difficult situation in L.A. right now.
