Prime Video's acclaimed action TV series Reacher Season 3 has concluded after its eight-episode run, delivering an intense and gripping storyline. From high-stakes action to shocking revelations, the third chapter gained immense popularity.

It follows Lee Child's Persuader, in which Jack Reacher goes undercover to take down a smuggling operation. Soon his mission becomes personal as Jack learns that an old enemy is still alive.

As the series begins, Jack allies with DEA agent Susan Duffy, played by Sonya Cassidy. Her acting in Reacher Season 3 has been praised by fans, as it wasn't an easy task to master Duffy's Boston accent.

The actress shed light on her practice and shared:

"I listened to a lot of Boston accents and just drilled it as best I could."

Sonya Cassidy continued:

"I found some fabulous clips online from old Boston Globe interviews with folks way back; it was these old Boston longshoremen talking about working at the docks and all this stuff. It was gorgeous to listen to."

The actress explained that recordings of old Boston Globe interviews featuring longshoremen helped her understand the unique rhythm and tone of the accent. To further refine her pronunciation, Cassidy collaborated with a dialect coach.

Reacher Season 3 star Sonya Cassidy talks about the parallel between her and Lee Child

In the same interview, Reacher Season 3 star Sonya Cassidy was asked if she felt a connection to Lee Child, as they both have worked more on American characters while actually being British in real life. The actress agreed and said:

"I suppose yes, in a way. Because I've played a lot of Americans. I have probably played more Americans than Brits."

She added:

"I was worried about this one because I thought the accent was so hard. I gave it a crack and hoped for the best. But yeah, I'm loving bringing these American characters to life."

Initially, Sonya Cassidy thought the Boston accent would be a tough job. However, she gradually developed the pronunciation and tone to offer authenticity in Reacher Season 3.

She was given a complete script in advance, which allowed her to prepare well for the role. Not only this, but the actress also felt that her character truly came to life beyond what was on the page.

Season 3 concluded with Reacher and Duffy parting ways for personal and professional reasons. While fans might have loved the duo, Duffy clarified that she isn't open for a love relationship currently.

This isn't the first time when Jack moved away from a woman. In Season 1, he formed a bond with Roscoe, while in Season 2, he got closer to Karlo Dixon. Being a lone wolf, this isn't something new for Jack Reacher.
