NBC aired the America's Got Talent Season 19 final episode (performances episode) on September 17, 2024. Next, finalists will perform on the show's final results episode on September 24, 2024, featuring celebrities including Gabriel Iglesias, Simone Biles, and Michael Bublé.
Among the top ten finalists is Richard Goodall, who is now a fan-favorite AGT 2024 finalist. Previously a janitor from Terre Haute, Goodall gave another spectacular performance in the America's Got Talent Season 19 finale (performances episode).
It was his last solo performance, and he received a fantastic response as usual. All four judges, as well as the audience, cheered him and also awarded the 55-year-old singer a standing ovation.
"You know, not only is he (Richard) a hero, not only is it great, I will make a prediction right now, I think you just sang yourself $1 million. I believe this is the winner," shared judge Howie Mandel.
America's Got Talent finals: Richard Goodall's Widely appreciated performance
After his final performance on America's Got Talent's final episode ended, the audience cheered quite loudly for Richard Goodall. He performed a cover of Journey's "Faithfully" from 1983. While the show host, Terry Crews, asked the judges for their opinions, the audience still cheered for the performance.
Heidi Klum, who gave Richard the Golden Buzzer, was the first to share. She said that she has been Richard's "biggest fan" since the "very, very first day" they met on the show. She also told the AGT 2024 finalist that he was "humble" and "kind" and added,
"You are such an amazing man. You're so humble, you're so kind, you're also a little bit quiet, but not when you are behind that microphone then you are a big rock star. I am so happy that we met because it really touched my heart and I hope that everyone at home felt the same way and I hope that everyone is going to vote for you. I want you to win this so bad Richard."
Next was Judge Simon Cowell, who appreciated Richard's amazing performances and said he had "risen."
"You've risen and you know what we all need a hero right now and you are our hero."
Howie Mandel jumped right into it and said that Richard was not only a "hero" but also made a prediction for the finalist. He told Richard that the performance he just gave was his "$1 million" performance and that he believed Richard was the "winner."
Richard Goodall shared his mind after hearing so many great compliments from the judges. He didn't have "the words anymore," thanked America and his hometown, and told everyone he loved them.
