Despite being in the public eye for decades, David Beckham revealed that he and Victoria were nervous about the documentary Beckham released on Netflix in 2023.
“People think they know everything about us, but they don’t really,” he explained.
The documentary offered a rare glimpse into their private life, which Beckham said they have been hesitant to show.
“We don’t open the doors to our house, but I knew it was the right time,” he said.

Watching the premiere was an intense experience.
“It was quite emotional,” he shared.
He explained that he only wanted to make the documentary once, knowing how difficult it would be to revisit moments from his career and personal life.
“It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact I was going to make it,” he acknowledged.
Beckham noted that the pandemic gave him the space to consider the project and the timing, which coincided with the 10-year anniversary of his retirement.
The retired soccer icon was candid about the difficulty of revisiting certain parts of his career for the documentary.
“We were talking about things in my career that I’d never spoken about before,” he explained.
He added that while he didn’t hate the process, it was incredibly hard for him. In the end, he and Victoria were proud of the results.

"I'm very proud to be here today," Beckham said.

"Setting up the studio is something I always had in my mind, but I needed the right people to help me build it,” Beckham said.
Studio 99 has already produced content, including Save Our Squad, a project Beckham said he loved making. The studio focuses on soccer-related content, with projects like 99 about Manchester United, a team David Beckham holds close to his heart.
