Love Island UK star and boxer Tommy Fury has broken his silence on his breakup with ex-Molly Mae Hague. Tom Fury featured in the show in Season 5 which aired in 2019. He ended up as a runner-up along with his then-girlfriend and now ex, Molly.

The Love Island UK couple was much loved and appreciated by the fans, and when last year they announced their separation, it sent a shock wave. However, Fury has now opened up about the reason why the couple went through a breakup, denying all the possible rumors that were circulating in the news.

Tom Fury joined Men's Health on January 15, 2025, for an interview and chimed in on fatherhood, alcoholism, breakup with Molly Mae, and more.

He candidly mentioned that the reason behind his breakup with Molly was his chronic alcoholism. He stated:

" We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink.”

He quashed all the rumors that hinted him being involved in cheating, claiming:

"Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing. You need to get a grip of it."

"I wish it was a publicity stunt"- Love Island UK's Molly Mae Hague feels frustrated by rumors about her breakup with Tom Fury

Love Island UK's stars Tom Fury and Molly Mae fell in love during their time together in Season 5 of the dating reality TV show in 2019. The ex-couple got engaged in 2023 after they welcomed a baby girl named Bambi. The ex-couple is co-parenting their daughter, and Molly finds this journey "complicated."

Love Island UK alum Molly Mae Hague shared her views with BBC during an interview on January 16, 2025, and expressed frustration about all the rumors surrounding their breakup news. She specifically denied that rumor, calling the breakup a "publicity stunt," and stated:

"I think that for me, above everything, has been the most frustrating part. I wish it was a publicity stunt, because it would be a lot easier. Because going through all of this, with the turmoil of a breakup, has been incredibly hard."
"I do see the comments, people saying this has obviously just been done 'to launch her brand or a publicity stunt', it's very painful to read because it's real life."

Love Island: All Stars Season 2 premiered on January 15, 2025, on Peacock.
