The Challenge 40 star Jonna Mannion was eliminated in episode 6 in the elimination challenge with Brad Fiorenza. Jonna was part of Era 3 and was nominated by Josh and Jenny from Era 4 along with Cory to participate in the elimination arena.

Era 4 won the daily challenge ‘Cloud Catcher’, giving the elimination power to Josh and Jenny. Era 1 lost the challenge making Brad and Rachel the clear targets. Josh and Jenny had to choose between Era 3 (Cory and Jonna) and Era 2 (Bananas and Laurel).

Jonna and Cory faced Brad and Rachel in the elimination challenge ‘To the Point’ where Jonna and Brad lost to their opponents by a close call. Jonna, after her elimination opened up about her team’s disappointing performance in the daily challenge.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly on September 25, 2024, The Challenge 40 star Jonna shared that the elimination challenge was ‘fair and square’ but her team, Era 3 members seemed disinterested in winning. She said,

“As soon as Era 4 won, they're like, "Okay, pick it up, let's go." So my team was playing to not lose, but not win. And it killed me.”

Why did Jonna Mannion feel disappointed by Era 3 players during episode 6 of The Challenge 40?

Episode 6 of The Challenge 40 had Brad & Rachel for Era 1, Bananas & Laurel for Era 2, Cory & Jonna for Era 3, and Josh & Jenny for Era 4 nominated as the targets for the elimination arena.

Tina and Nehemiah won last week's challenge and decided the lineup. As the format of the show goes, the Era to win the daily challenge gets saved from competing in the elimination challenge of the week and gets to choose the target as well.

The daily challenge in episode 6 ‘Cloud Catcher’ tested physical endurance along with riddle-solving skills. Era 4 was the first to finish the task, but Jonna felt that they could have tried harder as a team, and she felt they were not playing to win. She told Entertainment Weekly in an interview that:

“When we were in the house, Devin was just like, "This game is easy. This is just like Ride or Dies. You don't want to win, you don't want to lose. But I always want to win. I give it 130 percent. I don't care who the target is, I don't want to lose a team member.”

Jonna was disappointed that her teammates slowed her down when they were so close to the finish line. She added that as soon as Era 4 won, they told her to continue and finish the challenge.

The Challenge 40 will release episode 7 on October 2, Wednesday, on MTV at 8 pm ET/PT.
