Jen Affleck is among the eight TikTok personalities featured in the new Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Her name has made fans wonder if she is related to actors Ben and Casey Affleck. A mother of two, Jen is married to Zac Affleck, who is Ben and Casey’s second cousin.
Reportedly, Zac was a medical student when he met Jen when she was 18. He is the son of Dave Affleck, a cousin of Ben and Casey.
In a People Magazine exclusive from September 6, 2024, Jen Affleck confirmed her familial ties with the popular Afflecks. However, she admitted to having never met them in her life. She said:
“Zac's dad has (met them), when (Ben) was very little," she adds. "I'm hoping to meet him one day, too!”
Jen also pointed out that her name is not only Jen but Jennifer Lynn Affleck, identical to Jennifer Lopez’s (aka JLo) full name after her marriage. JLo transitioned from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck, which she found quite surprising. Jen and Zac have been married for five years and have two children.
While clarifying her connection to the Affleck family, Jen Affleck mentioned to People Magazine that Ben and Casey Affleck are more like distant relatives, even though they are brothers. Despite this, she expressed interest in hearing their thoughts on the Hulu series, hoping they will watch it and possibly have a chance to meet. She added that getting their feedback on the show would be great.
Jen Affleck and her husband reportedly moved to New York
At the beginning of the series, it was revealed that Zac was training to become a surgeon, continuing the legacy of his father and grandfather. By the last episode, the couple faced challenges in their marriage. They were also seen in New York’s Central Park, where Zac expressed excitement about moving to New York.
Jen, however, raised concerns about her business opportunities with MomTok, to which Zac responded that they weren't necessary. She then acknowledged that New York would likely benefit Zac. A Cosmopolitan report from September 16, 2024, mentioned that Jen Affleck likely embraced the decision, as the family of four appeared to have moved to New York.
Moreover, Jen reportedly shared several videos on TikTok and Instagram documenting the process, from leaving their Utah home to settling into New York with their two children. In August, Jen shared a TikTok video with her children, in which she was seen wiping away tears.
The caption reflected Jen Affleck's mixed emotions about leaving behind cherished memories while feeling ready for the next chapter, hinting at their upcoming move. Jen and Zac reportedly sought therapy after the first season of the show.
