Love Is Blind: Germany star Tolga has constantly been feeling suffocated since he got engaged to Shila in the pods. He said that he felt "choked" in his relationship during the mixer party in episode 4. His constant battle with dealing with his daily life with Shila was looking nothing close to romantic.
In episode 5 of Love Is Blind: Germany, Tolga revealed to Shila that he was not feeling the same connection that he felt on the first day when they arrived in Crete. He did not want to hurt Shila but admitted that it was important to be honest. Shila, who still had feelings for Tolga, respected the decision and asked him to move forward as friends.
During the reunion, it was evident that Shila was deeply hurt after the breakup. However, Shella, a fellow cast member, revealed that despite breaking up with Shila in Crete, Tolga constantly tried to talk to her. Shella asked him why he kept on contacting her. Tolga admitted that he tried to contact Shila and said:
"As the boys can attest, I wanted to contact her multiple times, I didn't have the guts. I did not know how she would react. I wanted closure. I did not want to give her a bad feeling, that's why."

"The levity we had in Sweden was gone. The levity we had in pods. everything was so tough, a new situation. I couldn't cope with it."

"I think the moment he realized he cannot pull his s**t show with me, he instantly lost interest."
