Love is Blind UK star Ollie recently opened up about various things during his appearance on Jessie Woo’s Jess A Couple Things podcast on August 26, 2024. He shared what type of women he has dated and said he never dated someone who looks like his former potential connection, Catherine, aka Cat.
The Love is Blind UK Season 1 reunion episode, and its following events made it clear that Ollie and his ex-fiance Demi broke things off on their wedding day. Referring to his other connection with Catherine during the initial stages of the show, Ollie shared that there is a stereotype about "black men" who prefer white women.
However, he opened up about his preference and his dating life on the podcast and shared,
"You can ask any of my friends, and you can ask my mom or any of my siblings. They’ll always tell you that I’ve never dated someone who looks like Cat, and I’ve dated plenty of women that look like Demi. Plenty of women that look like Sharlotte, plenty of women that look like Shirley, and that’s the real truth."

During the podcast with Jessie Woo, the Love is Blind UK star shared that he was frustrated after knowing the "narrative" that he would date someone who "looks like Cat." He found people making such assumptions quite frustrating
"So it was really really frustrating, like seeing that narrative going around without any of them having dug into my dating even have asked me like, "Oh what is your type?" No one’s ever actually asked me that, and yet they’re making this assumption, and it’s really frustrating because, again it’s like, why are we so, we…."
Love is Blind UK star shared how he sometimes struggles when approaching someone for dating. Ollie shared an incident that had happened with him,
"I genuinely don’t know, and it’s something I’ve struggled with all my life like I’ve literally been out in a club and moved to a dark-skinned woman before, and she’s going, "Oh do you date a black woman." I’m like, "I wouldn’t be asking for your number if I didn’t," like crazy. I have to prove this on a constant basis like that; that’s my type, and I’m not lying."
He also shared that he knows a lot of guys who "look like him" and who exclusively date white women. However, Ollie was fine with that, as he mentioned it as "their preference," but he clarified that it was not him.
"So don’t project those ideals and those beauty standards onto me because it’s not what I go for," shared Ollie.
Love is Blind UK star shared that white women, as well as women of color - they’re both "as acceptable as the other" on the podcast.
