"I’ve always been respectful "- Belle Collective's Selena Johnson discusses her relationship with JJ and Sophia

Belle Collective's Selena Johnson made a sparking entry in season 5 and stirred the pot quite hard. The season has come to its culmination and got to see all the drama rehashing again during part 1 of the reunion. Selena and Sophia did not shy away from throwing jabs at each other.

However, the host Carlos King suggested that they had the potential to maintain a decent relationship off-camera.

Selena Johnson came with a different mindset this season, especially after a rough reunion last season and how it impacted her daughters. Selena and JJ Williams share three daughters and they joined the cast during the reunion. Selena and JJ's daughters felt that Sophia time and again has been quite "disrespectful" in her demeanor while JJ accused Selena of not being there for their daughters.

After such a chaotic season, Belle Collective star Selena wished to make some amends and create a more respectful environment this season. She joined Blavity during an interview on November 10, 2024, and opened up about his relationship with JJ and Sophia before joining the show. She said:

"Well, we all have been around each other on several occasions. JJ’s family still invites me to their events. Sogucci and I, we have danced together. We’ve been to Latrice, one of her birthday parties in the same setting."

"Every time I see her, I make it my business to approach her, to speak to her. If her daughter is with her, I speak to her daughter, give her daughter a hug. So I’ve always been the same. I’ve always been respectful of their relationship and everything," added Selena.

Belle Collective star Selena Johnson explained that she did not plan her fight with Sophia Williams to get attention from the camera last season, during Latrice's party. She elaborated on herself during an interview with Blavity and mentioned that many people on the internet called her out for her fight with Sophia saying, "I was trying to show out for the cameras."

However, Selena maintained that she had a cordial relationship with both JJ and Sophia but things escalated during the Latrice party and her behavior was normal. She would have done the same thing off-camera as well.

For those unaware, Selena asked Sophia ‘Is Tambra the only person you see standing here?’ as Sophia only greeted Tamra during a conversation. This led to an escalated conflict between the two resulting in a physical altercation.
