The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On stars Zaina and Scotty chose each other as their partner for the trial marriage as they both wanted to get married and issued an ultimatum to their respective exes.
They bonded over their shared belief system, and old-school love philosophy while Scotty kept on emphasizing and appreciating Zaina for being the epitome of "Wifey Material".
Zaina, who could not find the level of commitment and assurance that she was looking for in J.R., felt validated by Scotty's words and actions. Both of them felt comfortable and were able to be vulnerable with each other, something they found missing in their past relationship. In episode 2, all the 12 singles joined the hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey to reveal their choices.
When Nick Lachey asked Scotty about his experience with Zaina, he expressed that he learned a lot about himself which helped him to understand what he wanted in his partner.
He opened up about dating another person in front of your ex was a tough task but he was able to find a safe space in Zaina. While expressing his feelings towards Zaina, he became emotional and said:
"I have been in a relationship for 3 years and sometimes, I feel I am still fighting for someone to see the person I am. That I am not a bad person. And I'm gonna love someone with my whole heart. I don't have malicious intent. I am not trying to be petty. That's not how I was raised. And I feel like every time we spoke, I truly felt seen."
