Deal or No Deal Island is ready to premiere its season 2 on NBC on Jan 7, 2024, at 8 pm ET. This is a thrilling game show where contestants go to an island to not only find hidden suitcases filled with cash but also form alliances and rivalries and take upon physical and mental challenges.
Joe Manganiello has been the host of the season since the very beginning. His job is not only to guide the contenders toward the hidden prize but also to analyze their strategies and gameplay on the show.
In a recent interview with Today, Manganiello sat down to talk about his approach to the player's strategy, the new banker on the island, his classic animal print costumes, and his beloved dog, Bubbles.
Deal or No Deal Island Season 2 host Joe Manganiello discusses his unbiased approach to judging strategies
Recently, the host of the upcoming season of Deal or No Deal Island was invited by Today to talk about the new adventures the islanders will take. During this conversation, not only did he reveal how his leopard print shirt made it past the customer designs to the small screen, but he also talked about how he judged the strategies played out by each player on the show.
When one of the hosts of the interview asked Manganiello if he ever judges the strategic choices made by the players to try and win, he revealed that it is a part of his job. He also discussed how he tries to be impartial.
"Of course I do. I mean but that's my job. My job is to understand every single facet of the game. And then I become the conduit to the audience. It is like being at a craps table. Some people are confused. Some people understand what's going on. My job is to set up that role so we're all focused on the table and watch the dice come out and then explode. So yeah, I am. Believe me, I am judging everyone very hard, but also I'm...I'm impartial because I just want to see how the game plays out."
He discussed how it is important for him to understand each player's strategy to make it easy for the audience to understand what is going on.
Joe Manganiello talks about the new banker on Deal or No Deal Island Season 2
During the same interview, Manganiello also gave a hint about the new banker in season 2. While on season 1 of Deal or No Deal Island, Howie Mandel was the one tempting the islanders with suitcases full of cash, this year will bring one more change for the viewers.
"Yeahhh...As you can see from the trailer, there is a new banker. At the end I say beware of the banker. You never know what SHE'll do next, which lends itself to having a new banker. Same island, different banker."
Though the Magic Mike star didn't reveal the name of the new entry, he did tease the interviewers, with the new banker being a female.
