Fans of One Piece can finally have a first look at the new season, as the show wrapped up filming and dropped an important update for fans. Although many had speculated that the series had finished filming, Netflix posted a photo of the cast on X, with the caption, "ONE PIECE SEASON 2 IS OFFICIALLY WRAPPED"

This means that the series will now make its way to post-production, and fans will soon get more updates as it undergoes the process. This also means that we can expect the show sometime around early 2026.

Many fans expected the studio to drop the second season in late 2025, but Netflix's latest post of all the things the streaming site has lined up for this year, fans could not spot One Piece.

Not much has been revealed about the second season as of now, but good news for fans is that the original manga's creator Eiichiro Oda is a dedicated member of the creative process behind the series, which assures fans that the show will live up to the brilliance of its print counterpart.

Emma Sullivan, director of One Piece reassured fans that the series is being made to cater to fans' expectations and Oda has significant creative control over the project. Speaking to Collider, Sullivan said,

“It’s big because you really want to make the fans happy because it means so much to them. They’re so invested in these characters. Particularly with 'One Piece,' you know, 23 years this has accompanied them through their lives, so it’s really important that you give it the due respect. Obviously, the lucky thing for us is that we had [Eiichiro] Oda-san on site. We always have him to check with, and if he’s not happy, we’ll do it again.”

More details on One Piece Season 2

Season 2 of the show has been confirmed to feature David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3; Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra and Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday.

Not much is known yet regarding the plot that season 2 will explore, but Matt Owens gave a spoiler in an interview with Tudum.

"When the season 2 writers' room got together, we knew how far we were going to get and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season."

He also added that fan-favorite Chopper is also going to be a part of the new season, as are the Straw Hats!

"Oda told everyone we’ll be meeting Chopper in season 2...The place that we were talking about all of Season 1, we’re in it now."
