HBO's House of the Dragon Season 3 begins production
The prequel series to George R.R. Martin's celebrated work Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, is based on Martin's Fire and Blood and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
The show debuted on HBO in August 2022, was renewed for Season 2, and was released in June 2024. Banking on the franchise's popularity, it was renewed for Season 3 in June 2024, even before the second season premiere.
The latest update, as posted on X, confirms that the upcoming season is finally in production, and the makers are adding new cast and characters to this fantasy adventure lore.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Ryan Condal discussed Dustin's character and how crucial he is for the story:
“I don't want to say much because I think this is one of those truly memorable Game of Thrones characters, and I'm very excited to bring him into the fold,”
Now, Flanagan is all set to bring the character on-screen. Teasing a bit more about the character, Condal added:
“But he is a fixture in Fire & Blood, and I think he's one of those true fan favorites. I'm very, very proud of the role that we've written. [Flanagan is] a delight and a thrill. I'm so excited to see what he's going to do with the character.”
House of the Dragon Season 3 has no confirmed release date yet.
