House of David: Prime video drops final trailer for its upcoming historical drama shortly before season 1 premiere

Prime Video dropped the final trailer of the historical drama House of David before its premiere on February 27, 2025. The trailer builds the anticipation that surrounds the series starring Michael Iskander as David and Stephen Lang as Prophet Samuel. House of David is based on the biblical tale that depicts the famous story of David vs Goliath, and how David goes on to become one of the more celebrated kings.

In the trailer for season 1 of House of David, we are treated to some stunning visuals, spectacular costumes and promises of an action filled drama. David prepares to lead with wise words from Prophet Samuel. We witness some iconic moments such as David drawing inspiration with,

"David, you have the heart of a lion, and what do lions do? They roar!"

The series will drop three episodes on February 27, followed by five episodes weekly until season 1 finale on April 3, 2025.

House of David is created by Jesus Revolution fame Jon Erwin and Ordinary Angels fame Jon Gunn. Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios executive produced the show in association with Jonathan Lloyd Walker, Justin Rosenblatt, Chad Oakes and Michael Frislev.

The cast of the series includes Martyn Ford as Goliath, Ali Suliman as King Saul, Indy Lewis as Mychal, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, Oded Fehr as Abner, Louis Ferreira as Jesse among others.

House of David series

One of the oldest stories known to mankind, House of David brings to screen the story of David and Goliath. The series follows the biblical figure of David, who goes on to become the renowned king of Israel.

The series synopsis says,

"House of David tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the Prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise."

As per Collider, Michael Iskander spoke about the upcoming show,

"I think just the nature of the show, having been a series instead of a movie or a short film, I think just lends itself to truly finding all the little moments about what it means to be a human during that time, and what it means to be up against someone like Goliath. And it just allows the show to really dig into every single character, every single relationship, the heart of the story. And we just, we get to take our time and tell it."
