The Voice Season 6 alum Ryan Whyte Maloney died tragically at the age of 44. According to People Magazine, the cause of death was stated to be s*icide, by a gunshot wound on the head. The unfortunate news surfaced on January 28, 2025, when Clark County Coroner, Medical examiner in Nevada, Los Angeles confirmed the death to the People Magazine.

Ryan Whyte Maloney appeared in Season 6 which aired in 2015, where all four judges, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira, and Usher, turned their chairs for the late contestant's audition performance. Ryan Whyte was a versatile performer with a hint of alt/country/classic/rock/R&B/hip hop music in his singing.

Days before Ryan Maloney's demise, on January 24, 2025, he performed at Blake Shelton’s bar, Ole Red, and a fan witnessed Ryan performing. The fan told The US Sun in an exclusive interview about his demeanor during the show:

"He was drinking a lot on stage, but I think he normally does that so it wasn't out of the ordinary. He was energized, playing drums, the guitar and singing. He was singing Creed's Higher, which makes so much sense now. He loved Creed. He does Creed a lot.”

Late Ryan Whyte Maloney posted about The Voice calling him to the finale just a few days before his demise

Ryan Whyte Maloney performed Lights by Journey in his auditions, impressing all four judges, and joining Blake Shelton's team. He was among the top 5 contestants on Blake's team before he got eliminated.
