Calling all adventure enthusiasts! A new TV series adapted from Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels is on the way. Renowned producer and director Uberto Pasolini has helmed the project as the showrunner.

As reported by Variety, this upcoming TV series will only have a six-episode run, making the story short and engaging. Apart from Pasolini, the projects include William Ivory as the writer, with Roberto Sessa (from Italy) and Jan Wünschmann (from Germany) as producers.

While talking about the Gulliver’s Travels TV series, The Full Monty producer said:

"What Gulliver allows us to do today is to make something really, really fun."

He continued:

"But at the same time – very much like Swift did in his time – to talk about the world around us; to talk about politics; to talk about greed; to talk about the place of the Western man in the world as a whole; to talk about the relationship between man and nature."

The showrunner described his TV series as a fun and thought-provoking take on the acclaimed novel. Just like the author added satire to his work, Uberto Pasolini's series will explore modern themes like greed, politics, and more.

Academy-nominated producer and director Uberto Pasolini has been credited as the showrunner of the upcoming TV series, based on Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels book. Interestingly, Pasolini has a strong history with the popular novel as he has previously worked on the story for the 1996 Hallmark miniseries.

While the makers will add their touch to this project, it's expected to retain Gulliver’s Travels' original elements of humor and adventure. Not only this but Jonathan Swift is also known for addressing controversial topics like bodily functions and social critiques in his story.

Currently, there's no confirmed title for the show, and neither have they finalized the cast members. However, Pasolini mentioned that the actors in his project will reflect diversity:

"You’re entering into different worlds, different cultures, different atmospheres, and those will be reflected in the casting."

In Gulliver’s Travels, the titular character is a sea captain named Lemuel Gulliver who who visits strange and fantastical lands. During his journey, Gulliver explores a wide range of cultures, perspectives, and ways of life.

He visits distinct societies—Lilliputians, Brobdingnagians, Laputans, and Houyhnhnms where each represents a different aspect of human nature and governance, offering a critique of European society. The book encourages the readers to question their assumptions about human nature, diverse societies, and power structures.
