Calling all Young Sheldon fans! If you've been waiting to see Lance Barber in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, then know that the actor is confirmed to appear in one of the episodes. Since George Cooper Sr. died in Young Sheldon, he will only appear in a dream sequence.

Does that mean George Sr. isn't returning to Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage in real life? Yes, that's correct. Barber reprised his role to paper in his son's dream in the episode "Typhoid Georgie."

While talking about George Sr. in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, executive producer Steve Holland said:

"His dad visits him in a dream,” Holland explained. “George is thinking about his dad, and he’s worried that his dad might be disappointed in him…. [The idea] came out of a conversation we’d had with Chuck, even early on, talking about the show."

He continued:

"Chuck had said about his own father that he still dreams about him, he still visits him, so that was a thing we had thought about. And then when we were breaking this episode, it just seemed like a great opportunity to bring George back."

Holland explained that Georgie is worried about upsetting his father, and this is why George Sr. will visit him in a dream. Interestingly, this idea came from The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon creator Chuck Lore, who once saw his later father in a dream.

Lance Barber to appear in a dream sequence in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage

Following the end of Young Sheldon, fans have been watching Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage Season 1, focusing on Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister's married life and parenthood. The show also dives into their ups and downs, highlighting how the two navigated challenges.

Since the events take place after Young Sheldon, Lance Barber's George Cooper Sr. cannot appear in the sequel. However, in the upcoming episode, he will be seen in Georgie's dream to let his son know how proud he is.

George Sr. had a different personality than his children and was often portrayed as an underappreciated family man. However, he deeply loved his children and gave his best to support them.

His death in Young Sheldon was incredibly emotional for fans, and George Sr.'s appearance in the sequel is expected to bring a wave of nostalgia.
