On General Hospital, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) is currently a surrogate for Molly and T.J. Could the stress of the fallout from the Natalia (Eve LaRue) recording be a little too upsetting for someone who is pregnant?

Natalia, who is the mother of Kristina's girlfriend Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), was recently heard making homophobic comments about their relationship after Ava recorded Natalia and leaked it to the Invader. Aside from hurting Kristina and Blaze's feelings, Natalia's words incited her pop star daughter's fans, who felt betrayed that she had been keeping her relationship and her orientation a secret. Additionally, Kristina was effectively fired from her job as an LGBTQIA+ advocate—at an agency she founded.

Kristina And Blaze Are Interviewed By Perez Hilton on General Hospital

In a recent TV interview with Perez Hilton, Kristin and Blaze spoke of the damage done to their personal and professional lives when Natalia's recording was leaked.

Kristina explained to Perez that she had been working for an LGBTQIA+ organization, but since the scandal broke, they assumed she'd been keeping her sexuality a secret and fired her.

Natalia watched the entire TV interview, was able to listen to Kristina and Blaze's points of view, and saw when Kristina spoke kindly of her, despite Natalia's disparaging remarks. Kristina explained to the viewing audience that she and Blaze were not having a closeted relationship amongst their family and friends. She admitted that they had actually kept it private from the fans only for Natalia’s benefit, and they'd just been trying to give Natalia some time to come around.

Kristina even added that she believed Natalia loved Blaze and that Natalia was welcome to her opinion, even if it was hurtful. She concluded by saying that the real villain in the scandal was the person who recorded—and then leaked—a private conversation without Natalia’s consent.

Fan Reaction To Natalia's Comments

General Hospital viewers, however, haven’t been as forgiving. Many people were outraged at Natalia’s homophobic remarks. It’s one thing for a mother to not approve of her child’s relationship, but she doubled down, creating more fan outbursts, by describing her point of view as “old-fashioned.” Fans loudly noted that homophobia is very much alive today, not from just an era gone by. Fans certainly expect Natalia to right her wrongs.

Viewers got their wish on Friday, July 26, 2024, when Kristina opened her door and found Natalia there. Natalia said she wanted to thank Kristina for her forgiveness on live TV. Kristina said that she didn’t believe in policing people’s freedom of speech or their perspectives. She declared that she is someone who would sue for discrimination, but people disagreeing with her lifestyle is something she doesn’t let affect her.

“Your ‘live and let live’ attitude is a value that I hold dear,” Natalia told Kristina, “I just need to be better at living it.”

Kristina and Natalia continued to have a respectful discussion, with Kristina reminding Natalia that although she was entitled to her opinion, Kristina didn’t particularly like it. Natalia repeated that she admired Kristina’s principles and respected what she had to say.
