Frank Fritz, the beloved co-host of the History Channel’s hit show American Pickers, died at 60. His longtime friend and co-host, Mike Wolfe, shared the sad news on social media. In an emotional post on Instagram, Wolfe said,

"It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night."

He went on to describe Frank as a dreamer with a kind and sensitive personality, someone who was just as funny and caring off-camera as he was on the show. Having known him for more than half his life, Wolfe shared how much Frank meant to him.

What happened to Frank Fritz?

Fritz’s death comes two years after he suffered a major stroke in 2022. This was two years after the host had taken off from hosting the long-running American Pickers citing health reasons. At the time, Mike Wolfe had asked fans to keep Frank in their thoughts, hoping for his recovery. Sadly, his health never fully improved after that incident.

For over a decade, Frank Fritz and Mike Wolfe traveled across America together on American Pickers, a show where they searched for rare antiques and treasures. They visited collectors, old homes, junkyards, and other places where hidden gems could be found.

Fans loved the show not only for the antiques but for the chemistry between Frank and Mike. Their friendship and love for history made the show special, and Frank was always known for his genuine excitement when he discovered something unique.

The History Channel, along with the show's production company Cineflix, also shared their sadness in a statement.

“We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear friend Frank Fritz on September 30, 2024. Frank was a cherished member of the American Pickers family, and we will always remember him for his passion, especially for vintage motorcycles and bikes. He will be deeply missed.”

Frank Fritz was more than just a TV personality. He had a vast knowledge of antiques, especially American history and vintage items. Friends and fans remember him for his kindness, cheer, and ability to brighten any room he walked into. He loved life, cared about people, and always had something kind to say.

Though Frank has passed, his legacy will live on through the countless episodes of American Pickers and the hearts of those who watched him. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and the many fans who came to love him over the years.
