Stranger Things fans, get ready— there's an exciting update on the final chapter of the beloved series, coming straight from Finn Wolfhard!

The cast of Stranger Things Season 5 has bid farewell to the Upside Down, as filming has officially wrapped up. From Millie Bobby Brown to Noah Schnapp, the actors shared emotional goodbyes on their social media, igniting bittersweet anticipation among fans.

Last year, Netflix revealed the number and titles of the episodes in Season 5, and now, Finn Wolfhhard has given an exciting scoop. During his conversation with Collider at the Sundance Film Festival, the actor who plays Mike Wheeler said:

"It’s definitely a long season. Not every episode is like a full-blown movie, but there are definitely some episodes this year that the runtime is definitely film-length."

He continued:

"When all that adds up, I guess they are like little micro-movies. But there are some episodes that are still 40 minutes, 45 mins."

As explained by Wolfhard, fans will get to enjoy some longer-than-usual episodes, making them feel like mini-movies. Since the upcoming season will end Eleven and her gang's story, longer episodes will ensure deeper storytelling and proper send-off for the characters.

While some episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 will feel like mini-movies, others will follow the usual 40-45-minute run. Finn Wolfhard also mentioned the emotional impact on the cast after reading the final scripts.

The actor said:

"I read it with the cast and it was unbelievably emotional. We cold read it. We’d never read it before, so this was the first time we were all reading everything, and so it’s very overwhelming and really special."

Wolfhard's experience was more emotional than he expected, but the actor feels happy about how the show is ending and hopes for fans to love it equally. The story will begin after the events of the Stranger Things Season 4 finale, in which Eleven reunites with her father but later witnesses Hawkins in a terrifying state.

At first, it seemed like Vecna had finally been defeated, but he's returning in Season 5, as he has been the biggest threat since the first season. Additionally, Vecna's ritual almost killed Max, as she became blind and had broken bones.

Thankfully, Eleven was able to revive her friend but couldn't fully recover her injuries. Season 4 ended without revealing Max's fate to keep fans curious about her story in the last season.
