My 600-lb Life is a show that follows the struggling journey of people suffering from obesity. The camera covers the everyday challenges with mobility, health issues, and mental well-being of people who weigh over 600 lb or more.

The contestants on the show seek help from Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, also known as Dr. Now, who is a bariatric surgeon in Houston. He offers medical guidance, strict diet plans, and weight-loss surgeries (if needed).

Each contestant's weight loss journey is captured for over a year as they attend therapy, undergo surgery, and improve their overall health.

My 600-lb Life is ready to air its season 13 on January 1, 2025, and the teaser showcases the struggles of the participants even with their everyday tasks. A contestant in the teaser reflects on his struggle with mobility,

"It is easier to stay in my chair that I'm in right now, almost 24*7."

My 600-lb Life's Jonathan reflects on struggles with mobility - Teaser for season 13 is out

The teaser of My 600-lb Life season 13 begins with a heartbreaking clip of several cast members struggling with obesity and going through emotional and physical pain.

"Somewhere in me is this little glimmer of hope. I just wanna be a normal person," cried one of the contestants.
I need a change now. I am scared, it's going ot be too late."

Another participant shares as she struggles to get up.

As the clip proceeds, it reveals Jonathan's journey. He is a 36-year-old overweight person from Macedonia. IL. He is hopeful and scared as he visits Dr. Now for his treatment.

"Failure here would be heartbreaking," he says.

Later, he is lying in his chair with an oxygen mask on to help him breathe. His voiceover reveals his struggles,

"It's way too easy for me to picture the day I just give up trying to get up. Because it's easier to stay in my chair that I'm in right now, almost 24*7. I'm getting closer to my entire life being confined because of my weight."
"I would rather lay in bed with my wife than being out here by myself. But the amount of weight that pushes down on my diaphragm... and my chest makes it kind of hard to breathe in a regular bed," he adds.

Jonathan's wife further talks about how she managed everything as Jonathan's physical distress doesn't allow him to do much.

"He's a big guy and with his weight being at words right now, I do do a lot of things around the house such as I do the laundry, I take out the trash, I take care of the dog."
"He's working the head. Yeah. He gets short of breath just sometimes walking from one end of the house to the other. It's just hard for him to do. So I work full time and I support our family," she adds.

Season 13 of My 600-lb Life will air on TLC on January 1, 2025.
