Disney releases a brand new poster for Andor Season 2

Andor Season 2, also the series' final one will begin streaming on Disney+ on April 22, 2025. On March 05, 2025, Andor fans were treated to a new poster of the upcoming second season created and showrun by Tony Gilroy. In that poster, we see all the major players of this season, both the returning characters and "new" ones.

The "new" characters on the poster are returning from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, who did not appear in the first season. These include Alan Tudyk and Ben Mendelsohn as the android K-2SO and the director of advanced weapons research for the Imperial military Orson Krennic respectively. However, the best feature of this poster is the death star looming over all the characters.

March 5, 2025, was a special day for MCU and Star Wars fans. As they were just reeling at the heartbreaking loss in the first episode of Daredevil: Born Again, they were surprised with a poster for Andor Season 2 which is poised to begin streaming on Disney+ from April 22, 2025.

This poster hints at the increasing oppression by The Empire across the galaxy as the larger threat of the Death Star looms over it. Apart from the poster, Disney also released a 2:21-long video, which serves as a special look into the upcoming Andor Season 2.

Andor Season 2 special look hints at one of The Empire's most disturbing atrocities

In the Andor Season 2 video above we see a crowd from an unknown planet protesting against the imperial officers. This many fans have theorized is what's known as the Ghorman Massacre that fans of the Star Wars Expanded Universe will be aware of. This massacre ties into the journey of Mon Mothma from a member of the Senate to a rebel leader.

In the Star Wars Universe, the Ghorman Massacre is a turning point in the rebellion movement. In that massacre, people protest The Empire's punitive taxation policies by halting the landing of Captain Wilhuff Tarkin's ship. However, instead of landing the ship on an empty land, Tarkin landed it on the crowd of protestors.

This cruelty is what resulted in Mon Mothma's resignation and jolted her into joining the rebellion. Described as the final season, season 2's conclusion will directly lead to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Relationships will become more intense as war looms over the galaxy. Season 2 will show Cassian becoming one of the Rebel Alliance's key players. Every character's loyalty is tested with rising stakes.
