Disney Kid's alum Cole Sprouse known for his roles as Cody Martin on Disney's The Suite Life of Zach and Cody series and Will in Five Feet Apart, has revealed his wishes to join Netflix's live-action One Piece. In a panel at the Fan Expo held in Chicago in 2024, the 32-year-old has shown his aspirations to join the live-action adaptation of One Piece.

Created by Matt Owens and Steve Maeda, the live-action series made its debut on August 31, 2023, and it topped Netflix's Global English TV ranking with steady reviews. Netflix's One Piece is a live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's manga that follows the story of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats. They embark on an exciting adventure to find One Piece's treasure and become the Pirate King. The series captures powerful visuals, storytelling, and varied characters like Nami, Usopp, and Zoro.
Sprouse also hinted that he shares a cordial bond with the showrunner Matt Owens, he said,
"I know Matt really well, who does the One Piece live action. We are friends. We talked back in the day before he got it off the ground."
On the work front, Cole Sprouse has a producing deal with Lionsgate to develop a new project in 2025. Earlier in 2024, Cole Sprouse starred in I Wish You All The Best and Lisa Frankenstein.
What character does Cole Sprouse want to play from One Piece?
During the Fan Expo, Cole Sprouse stated that he wants to play the role is Big Mom or Kaidu from One Piece. He said,
"I'd kill to be Big Mom, to be honest"
Big Mom or Charlotte Linlin, one of the Four Emperors in One Piece, makes her the strongest pirate in the world. She's the captain of the Big Mom pirates and has a giant-like presence. Her childhood was spent on the island of Elbaf and she became known for her strength and temper.
Big Mom's goal is to create a world where every race would be in her control. She has the power of the Soru Soru no Mi, a Devil Fruit that would control the soul. This would help her turn objects into living creatures and steal people's souls.
Cole Sprouse even humorously added that he would get shredded if needed for the role of Kaidou. While the idea of Sprouse as Big Mom might be shocking to many it would be a welcome change of the casting expectations.
When will One Piece Season 2 released?
Even if there are no definite dates for the release of Netflix's One Piece Season 2, is it expected to have a late 2025 premiere. To see whether Cole Sprouse will play the challenging role of Big Mom is something that we have to wait for until late 2025.
