After a wait of several years, Netflix has finally announced that Stranger Things Season 5 will be released sometime towards the end of this year. Season 4 introduced fans to one of the most menacing villains of the show, Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower.

While most details about the season are yet to be divulged, celebrities starring in the show have revealed that this season of Stranger Things is going to be one of the most interesting ones yet. In fact, Campbell Bower even revealed that it was really hard for him to say goodbye to his character, even though he had only been introduced a season earlier.

Jamie Campbell Bower spoke about his experience on the sets of Stranger Things Season 5 at the recent MegaCon Orlando and revealed:

"It was just odd. Yeah, I had a few final days. Somebody took a photo of me after we finished the last scene and I just looked like a man that's just been carrying so much weight for so long, and it's just been like, there you go. So that's how it felt. I was in tears, it was weird, I didn't want to say goodbye, but I definitely was ready to put down what I had been doing for some time."

Bower even went on to speak about how letting go of the role felt like a huge weight that he was shedding off of himself, especially with the huge gaps they took between Season 4 and Season 5. Bower's character was only introduced to the show in Season 4, so the end of Stranger Things must have felt much more impactful than the original cast, who grew up with the show.

Jamie Campbell Bower reveals how playing Vecna in Stranger Things Season 5 forced him to push his limits as an actor

During his appearance at the MegaCon Orlando, Jamie Campbell Bower spoke about his experience playing Vecna in Stranger Things Season 5. Although he refrained from giving any spoilers or divulging any details, the Emmanuelle actor revealed that the experience challenged him as an actor every day.

"I think with season five, you know, there were moments where I was like, really worried and just kind of pushing through and just like being like, just come on, Jaime, you know, we've done this before, we can keep going. But, again, without giving anything away, you know, I have had some artistically, really powerful moments this season, that, as an artist, you just hope happen, you can't really prepare for them. They just kind of appear out of thin air. And in those moments, the whole room goes like dead quiet. And you'll finish a take. And like, I'll turn around. And I'm like, you should go home now. It's not getting any better."

He explained how he dealt with the pressure by simply taking things one day at a time and choosing not to focus on the pressure that was on him.

Vecna was a very crucial character in Stranger Things Season 4, especially since he almost killed Sadie Sink's Max, leaving her hospitalized in a critical condition. That being said, fans are excited to see what the cast has in store for them in Season 5.
