Here's a recap of everything that happened on the latest episode of Dark Winds season 3 just in case you missed the episode.
Dark Winds season 3: Leaphorn and Chee visit a chili farm
Almost throughout the entirety of the previous second episode, Leaphorn was haunted by the possibility that George Bowlegs might still be alive and may be looking for them. This belief persisted in the third episode as well. Leaphorn and Chee proceeded to visit a chili farm some distance away from the cabin where their investigation initially began. The clue that led them there was the red pickup truck, which was reported to have been sighted on the night Ernesto Cata met his demise.
Making their routine set of inquiries, Leaphorn and Chee gather the truck that belonged to Suzanne, the wife of the farm's owner who goes by the name of Halsey. While interrogating Suzanne, Leaphorn is quick to realize that the woman seems to be acting in duress. Upon further inquiry, it is revealed that Halsey had the pickup truck to himself on the night of Ernesto's murder, and his movements were unaccounted for.
Suzanne reveals that George was at the farm and that he liked her before Halsey came to know about this. When Leaphorn and Chee revisit the farm the next day, they find Suzanne drugged and Halsey was able to make a narrow escape.
The investigation into BJ Vines' death intensifies
The latest episode of Dark Winds also began on a somber note as two boys chanced upon someone's skeletal remains. When the remains are subsequently identified as being that of BJ Vines, Sylvia Washington gets an impetus to further her investigation.
Washington slowly pieces together Vines' movements prior to death, ultimately hitting upon the fact that someone brought Vines out to the desert intending to murder him but eventually didn't go all the way through. Instead, it was the cold and the elements that did the killing.
