The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again is a sequel to the original Netflix series. The original show had three seasons on Netflix and ended with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock taking down Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) and trying to rebuild the law firm with his friends Froggy and Page. Now, in Daredevil: Born Again, Matt is back as the lawyer and vigilante and so are his enemies including Fisk.

However, the sequel won't mirror the same tone, as the showrunner Dario Scardapane promises a new perspective. He explained that the Disney+ series focuses more on character actions than introspection, offering a faster pace. This allowed them to shift the focus to a more action-packed and cold narrative.

While talking about the upcoming series with SFX Magazine, Scardapane also mentioned Netflix's Daredevil and said:

"I really feel that Netflix's Daredevil, which I know in my blood, was much more noir, and this show is more New York crime story. It has elements of The Sopranos and King Of New York. There's a feeling for those classic '90s crime tales."

He continued:

"It has a pace and a scope that, for a lot of reasons, Netflix wasn't able to do. They were very dark, cinematically, not necessarily story-wise, although there were some dark elements. We're much darker."

Dario Scardapane is known for his work in The Punisher, making it easier for him to connect the stories. However, the showrunner also mentioned that the new series will have high-energy sequences, just like most of the Disney+ shows.

Fans must expect an even darker tone in Daredevil: Born Again. Continue reading to know more about the upcoming sequel.

If you're excited about Daredevil: Born Again TV series, prepare yourself for an action-packed and darker story. The showrunner has moved on from the long dialogues and slower buildups featured in the original show and extensively focused on making the sequel "much darker" in terms of both: tone and storytelling.

As seen in the Daredevil: Born Again trailer, Wilson Fisk warns about creating unstoppable chaos in the city, as now he seems to have secured a mayoral position. Not only this, Cox's Daredevil will also face new enemies, notably the popular serial killer and artist Muse.

Muse is known for creating disturbing art using his victims' blood and corpses. His addition to Cox's new show proves that the story will indeed be more gritty. Dario Scardapane also revealed reworking the pilot in the middle of the production as Marvel realized the story wasn't aligning with the original show and asked Scardapane to join the project.
