Netflix released the Outlast Season 2 finale episode on September 11, 2024, exclusively on the platform. The eighth episode, Winners Are Made, featured survival show winners Drew Haas and Drake Vliem. They were Bravo teammates who competed against the five remaining participants on the Delta team.
After winning Netflix's Outlast Season 2, the winners revealed how they felt since returning to "civilization." From having the first shower and an hour-long "bath," Drew shared his experience, while Drake returned to his work within 36 hours after returning home.
"Man, let me tell you about the first shower. I watched all the dirt go down the drain, and I cried happy tears. I sat in there for 45 minutes, cleaned the tub, took a bath for an hour, and then got up and showered for another 30 minutes," shared Drew Haas.
Outlast Season 2 winners reveal insights after returning to "civilization"
Drew Haas and Drake Vliem were declared the winners of Netflix's Outlast Season 2, which won them a million dollars. Since the show ended, the winners declared, via an interview with Netflix, how their friendship "blossomed almost immediately" after getting to know each other on the show.
"It was like being with your best friend, feeding off of each other, quoting movies, and laughing. There's no better way to bond than through laughing, especially in the woods," shared Drew.
The winners and the show's other participants endured extreme weather conditions, including limited food, freezing temperatures, lesser exposure to sunlight, and no clean water supply.
As viewers already know, the show was set in the "Alaskan wilderness," where participants were supposed to stay in groups and survive to "outlast" their fellow competitors.
Sharing more about the return to their "normal" lives, Drew had to have IVs during his initial days of return as his time on the show "took its toll." He has also been throwing up for his first two weeks since his return, as his body wasn't reacting well to the "processed foods."
As for Drake, he got back "in the field" within the first 36 hours since his return home, which he described as “as if nothing ever happened.”
"I just laid there and soaked it in. It was a huge sigh of relief seeing the black water down that drain. As soon as I got out, I told Drew, 'Dude, I feel like a million bucks.' "
Drew replied that he should feel "like a million bucks" since they "just won" a million bucks.
