“Could happen”: Reacher season 3 star Alan Ritchson breaks silence on his potential appearance in the spin-off Neagley

As Reacher Season 3 continues to impress fans, the show’s universe is only growing bigger with the confirmation of the spin-off series Neagley. As the name suggests, the new show will be based on Frances Neagley, a private investigator played by Maria Sten.

Ever since the announcement of the project in October 2024, fans have been wondering if Alan Ritchson would appear as Jack Reacher in the spin-off series. The actor has addressed the question in an interview with Forbes. While he initially neither confirmed nor denied his appearance in the new show, he later said:

“But it could happen.”

Both Alan Ritchson and Maria Sten sat for the Zoom interview to talk about Reacher Season 3. During the conversation, the topic of the spin-off series Neagley came up. While Maria is confirmed to reprise her role in the series, Alan’s involvement in the project has not been confirmed yet.

Talking about if Jack Reacher would be seen in Neagley, Alan said:

“That would make sense, but we cannot confirm that it would make sense. It just makes sense in a world of hypotheticals.”

Maria added:

“Yes, we can neither confirm nor deny such rumors.”

Alan then said, "But it could happen," hinting that Jack Reacher might appear in the spin-off. The self-proclaimed hobo’s appearance in Neagley makes sense as well since he has closely worked with Frances all these years.

Frances is one of the few characters who have appeared in all three seasons of Reacher and continues to help him with his cases. The two have been friends since their days in the military.

The synopsis of Neagely suggests that Frances will be using the skills she learned from Jack to investigate the suspicious death of a friend from her past. The confirmed cast members in the spin-off series include Jasper Jones, Greyston Holt, Matthew Del Negro, Damon Herriman, and Adeline Rudolph.

Meanwhile, Alan and Maria have impressed the audience with their performances in Reacher Season 3. The new season of the action crime drama premiered on Prime Video on February 20, 2025, and follows Jack as he goes against a criminal enterprise, trying to take it down from the inside.

Apart from Alan and Maria, the new season stars Sonya Cassidy as Susan Duffy, Olivier Richters as Paul "Paulie" van Hoven, Anthony Michael Hall as Zachary Beck, Roberto Montesinos as Guillermo Villanueva, and Daniel David Stewart as Steven Eliot.
