Constance Zimmer joins Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer in a new role

The fourth season of Netflix's Lincoln Lawyer has just added a new star to their cast for one of the key roles in the series. Constance Zimmer has joined the cast for the new season as Dana Berg, who is a part of the sixth book of The Law of Innocence, on which the season is based.

Announcing the news via an Instagram post, the actress wrote,

Whoop there it is!! I’ve been waiting to share this exciting news!!! So thrilled to be joining the cast of @thelincolnlawyernetflix for their 4th Season!! This #Dana is going to surprise you, can’t wait to dive in!! Grateful to be back with my old bosses at @aetv, @netflix and @davidekelleyproductions, working with former cast-mates @nevecampbell and #beckinewton again AND getting to collaborate with @matthewlbrmn @dailynrod and @tedhumphrey_ what a dream!!

The Season 3 finale of Lincoln Lawyer set up the plot for this season when Mickey Haller (played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) was stopped and taken into custody after a client's body was discovered in his Lincoln's trunk.

In the upcoming season, Mickey will defend himself as he faces a murder trial. He will go up against Zimmer's Dana Berg, the prosecutor on the case.

Zimmer's role is a strong one, as reported by Netflix. Her description reads,

"A relentless prosecutor who will let nothing stand in the way of a guilty verdict, has a single-mindedness that earned her the nickname “Death Row Dana.” A fierce and ruthless adversary who bends the rules to her advantage, she’s the last person Mickey wants to go up against in what will be the trial of his life."

This won't be the first time Zimmer is in a legal drama. She was previously seen in Boston Legal as Claire Simms and also appeared in Netflix's House Of Cards.

Lincoln Lawyer was created by David E. Kelley for television and Ted Humphrey is currently the showrunner.

The legal drama will mostly focus on Mickey's trial and the consequences he will face after getting caught with a dead body in his trunk. Dana's role will be a crucial one to the plot and will add much tension to Mickey's life.

Humphrey teased the atmosphere of the fourth season in an interview with Tudum and said,

“As far as what it all means, hopefully we will be able to show you in Season 4. But clearly, the only thing Mickey could be thinking is ‘WTF?’ ”

As for the cast, Garcia-Rulfo is returning as Mickey Haller with Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Neve Campbell is also returning for the new season and will be a regular.

The release date for the fourth season of Lincoln Lawyer has not yet been revealed. The three seasons of the show are available to stream on Netflix.
