Jeopardy! aired another episode on December 23, 2024, with returning champion, Laura Faddah from Memphis, Tennessee, Sean Maguire from New York, and Jenifer Miller from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
This Monday, Laura Faddah came back for the third time and became the champion banking $13,200 after three intense rounds of clues and answers. Though she banked another win, the episode was quite dull as contestants ended up with no answers quite a few times.
In fact, during the Double Jeopardy round, a lot of clues were left unanswered, resulting in a lot of cash unclaimed. The round even finished with Jenifer with a negative score ($-2000), disqualified for Final Jeopardy. Jeopardy! fans were disappointed with how the entire episode turned up.
Jeopardy! fans react to December 23 Double Jeopardy round
After Jenifer's negative score and with more than $10,000 left unclaimed, fans took it to Reddit and reacted to December, 23, 2024, episode of Jeopardy!
"The sponsored category aside, that was just a brutal DJ board in terms of difficulty. If anything, all the unrevealed clues today come from the amount of triple stumpers, and I was right there with the contestants on most of them -- a lot of the $1,200 to $2,000 clues felt like TOC, JIT or Masters level cuts."
Another admirer continued the thread and shared his personal performance to determine the difficulty level of DJ:
"Same--I had an awful DJ round (though, 6800 worth of unrevealed clues doesn't do any favors for one's Coryat score). Also annoyed at myself for pivoting from the correct FJ response to Fidel Castro."
A Reddit comment from a Jeopardy! fan read:
"...and, per usual, the length of the clues means we don't finish DJ and this time left a lot of cash on the board! I like Hoult, but both he and Depp appeared to be really miserable about reading these clues aloud, like someone was torturing them and forcing them to do it under duress. No offense intended to the players, but this was a dud of a game."
"holy moly was this one bad. i don’t know if the contestants just collectively froze up or what, but between the triple stumpers and the awful movie category this was painful to sit through. i’m shocked that none of the contestants in FJ even guessed a latin american leader, period, much less a relatively contemporary one," another Reddit user criticized the entire episode.
