Yellowstone's prequel series 1923 star, Brandon Sklenar, has recently approved fan castings of him as the new Batman in James Gunn's DCU.
Gunn's DCU is all set to debut its live-action Batman in the movie The Brave and the Bold, but the creators are yet to close an actor in the role of Batman. It seems like fans are excited to see who will be DC's newest Batman, and amid this, they have come up with their theories, one of which suggested 1923 star Brandon Sklenar for the role.
An Instagram user posted a Sklenar fan art as the caped crusader and suggested that he should be DC's newest Batman, and it seems like the 1923 actor is all up for it:
"I approve," the actor commented.

While Gunn surprised its fans with a little sneak peek of Batman in the animated series Creatures Commandos, there is still no confirmation on who will play the caped crusader aka Bruce Wayne in DC's upcoming Batman movie.
While it is a big opportunity, many stars, including Black Panther's Winston Duke and Spider-Man: No Way Home's Jake Gyllenhaal, have expressed their desire to be DC's newest Batman.
It was also rumored that Robert Pattinson might reprise his role as Batman, but The Brave and the Bold director, Andy Muschetti, confirmed that Pattinson will not head the movie. The fans will get to see a new actor in the superhero's cape.
Batman's debut in Creature Commandos further confirmed that Pattinson would not be DC's new Batman, as the silhouette shown did not match the actor's Batman.
Amid these theories on who might be the new superhero, 1923 star Sklenar has also played his card, and it looks like he is also set to join the league of actors who want to be Batman. There has been no official statement by either Sklenar or Gunn about this, we do hope we have some news about who will be playing the superhero in the upcoming movie.
Earlier, in an interview with RT, Gunn confirmed that DC would not invest in Batman's origin story, instead, the movie will focus on Bruce Wayne and his son:
“We don’t need to hear the origin story again. That’s just a way to introduce that Batman is a part of this universe. He’s an important part of this universe, and he has an impact on it, including defeating such pretty dangerous, scary people like Phosphorus.”
Sklenar recently starred in Collen Hoover's adaptation of It Ends with Us. In addition, Sklenar is all set to appear in 1923 Season 2, which will premiere on Paramount+ on February 23, 2025.
The actor plays the role of Spencer Dutton on the show, and as seen from the trailer for the second season, his character is up for a long journey in the show's final season.
