Blood of Zeus casts actor Alfred Molina in a brand new role for upcoming Season 3

Alfred Molina has just joined the cast for Blood of Zeus season 3 as he will be featuring in the series as one of the most important characters in Greek mythology, Zeus' father, Cronus. Joining the animated series, the actor brings his achievements, including Emmy and Tony nominations, along with years of expertise, making things look exciting for the show.

Series creators Charley and Vlas Parlapanides talked about Molina's casting and issued a statement saying,

“We are beyond thrilled to have Alfred Molina join the Blood of Zeus family. Cronus is a character of immense power and depth, and Alfred’s incredible range and gravitas make him the perfect choice to embody the king of the Titans. Fans are in for something truly epic."

According to Greek mythology, Cronus—also called Cronos or Kronos—is the son of Uranus and the primal Gaia. He replaced his father to become the monarch of the gods. Cronus would eat his own children out of fear that he would suffer the same fate as predicted. Zeus was the only one to escape since his mother, Rhea, hid him. After the Titanomachy, Zeus sent Cronus to Tartarus and ultimately retaliated against his father, saving his brothers.

Blood of Zeus' third season will explore Greek mythology and its counterparts more as fans witness the wars between the demigods. The series is set to end after the third season, which makes things all the more exciting for fans. Produced by Powerhouse Animation Studio, the show is written by Vlas and Charley Parlapanides, who also produce the show along with Brad Graeber and Michael Hughes.Talking about the third season, Parlapanides has told Deadline,

“In Season Three, we are so excited to continue the story of Heron, Seraphim and the gods as they face their most dangerous adversaries yet, Typhon, Cronus and the Titans,”

What else has Alfred Molina been a part of?

This is not the first time Molina has starred as an antagonist. He has previously performed in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home as Doctor Otto Octavius. His performance was central to the story and earned him immense praise. Apart from that, he has also earned Emmys for his performance in The Normal Heart. He has films like Anna Karenina, Boogie Nights, The Da Vinci Code, and A Family Man on the big screen.

He has previously lent his voice to films such as DC League of Super-Pets, Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans, Frozen II, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Henchmen.

Molina's inclusion in the series will surely bring newer edges to the show, which has been a success since its very first season.
