Beyond: Two Souls, the action-adventure video game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Computer Entertainment is reportedly getting adapted into a TV series by Elliot Page‘s Pageboy Productions.
Page voice acted for the titular character in the game, Jodie Holmes.
The game was released in October 2013 and follows the protagonist, Jodie, who has supernatural powers because of her psychic link to an incorporeal entity, Aiden, since childhood. Because of this connection, she gets entangled in a web of government conspiracies and otherworldly forces and must navigate her way through it.
The players primarily control Jodie and can switch to Aiden anytime, who remains in Noclip mode throughout the game. Alongside Page, Willem Dafoe also co-stars as Nathan Dawkins, as Jodie's surrogate father and a researcher of Paranormal activities.
Directed by David Cage, Beyond: Two Souls opened at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival.

Elliot Page to adapt Beyond: Two Souls into a TV series
The game is still in its early days of adaptation and will likely capture the no-liner storytelling and Jodie's journey to find her connection with Aiden. She must also save herself from the government, who is after her because of her supernatural abilities.
In an interview with Deadline, Page discussed the idea for this adaptation:
“The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers.”
He added:
“Filming the game was one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences of my career,”
During the Tribeca Film Festival, Cage discussed how gaming studios should invest in interactive storytelling that is accessible even to non-gamers. In an interview with Deadline, he seemed thrilled that the adaptation is headed by Page:
“We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project,”
He added:
“I was blown away by his acting performance in the game, and I couldn’t think of anyone else to tell this story with the same passion on another medium. Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV.”
Matt Jordan Smith, Pageboy’s Head of Development and Production added:
“This adaptation will honor the game’s legacy while inviting fresh perspectives...Delving into questions of survival and how split-second decisions can alter not just our lives, but the lives of others, are key to telling the story.”
