Shark Tank investor and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is going after Elon Musk and the newly created department of which he is head. The Department of Government Efficiency was put into action by the Trump government after coming into power. This advisory body is allowed access to the federal payment systems to unearth any discrepancies.
DOGE has been making the news since its officials have come into action, unmasking several fraudulent aids that have been made from the taxpayers' money. While another shark, Kevin O'Leary lauded Musk for this exercise, Mark Cuban is not so sure about the credibility and working structure of DOGE.
Presenting his views on the same, the Shark Tank judge Cuban tweeted a reply to Peter Wolff, who was questioning the accountability of DOGE. The tweet was made on February 10 by Mark Cuban, who wrote:
"Exactly! You don’t just cut to cut. You review, explain, and then are transparent about the cuts you are making and why each cut is important. Then you ask for feedback. Can be right here. Just in case there is something you are missing Why do you think is not being transparent or asking for feedback?
Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban has expressed transparency concerns with Elon Musk's DOGE initiatives
Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban isn't holding back his thoughts on the newly formed government body, DOGE. While he acknowledges and appreciates the initiative to monitor taxpayers' money and curb unnecessary expenditures, he raises a flag of concern about the transparency of this new entity.
On February 7, 2025, Cuban took to Twitter to voice his skepticism, particularly regarding Elon Musk's intentions. It’s a compelling mix of optimism and caution in a fascinating time for government accountability.
Questioning the plan of Doge, the Shark Tank investor, Cuban quipped:
"Iabsolutely want to see reduce wasteful spending. But i want the process to be transparent.. I don't want to have to guess which media reports are accurate or not. If this is the result of a detailed plan. I want to see the plan."
He also demanded that he see the legal backing and opposition's support for the DOGE initiative, citing that this initiative is an attack on "American Systems and Economics".
However, all he is looking for is a shade of transparency that can calm down his inhibitions because, as it involves taxpayers' money, the American people deserve a transparent working system from the DOGE.
Shark Tank Season 16 is available on ABC Network.
