Severance is undeniably on its way to cementing its position as the biggest original show on Apple TV+, surpassing even Ted Lasso. Ahead of the impending Severance Season 2 finale on March 20, Apple TV+ recently dropped an intriguing teaser clip.
Running just ten seconds in duration, the clip proves to be as mysterious as the tone of the show itself. Without revealing any major details, the teaser effectively builds suspense while hinting at one of the show's enduring questions.
Here's everything that you need to know.
What's the latest buzz about the Severance season 2 finale teaser clip?
The ten-second teaser clip released by Apple TV+ shows a small bleating goat being carted off in a trolley through the eerily white corridors of the severed floor at Lumon. The very presence of a goat has already led many to believe this is a nod to The Goat Room, the nature and purpose of which have remained a mystery since it was first mentioned in the third episode. All that is known is that The Goat Room falls under the supervision of the Mammalian Nurturable Department.
Alongside this, Gemma's ultimate fate remains a major question that the finale needs to address.
The Severance Season 2 finale is expected to be significantly longer than its predecessors, running for a full sixty minutes. Speculation suggests the finale will feature several mind-bending twists and turns, especially now that Mark and Devon have finally enlisted Ms. Cobel's help to free Gemma.
Severance creator Dan Erickson speaks about the second season
Dan Erickson discussed the inception and development of Severance Season 2 in an interview with Slashfilm ahead of the sophomore season’s premiere earlier this year. When asked whether his writing of the second season was influenced by the public reaction to the debut season, Erickson answered:
"We didn't want to be too beholden to it (public reaction) because I think that way lies madness. But at the same time, I think it was sort of a gift to be able to hear people's reaction, find out what people were falling in love with, and there's a version where nobody cared about the goats and we maybe didn't feel like it was as necessary to follow up on that. But in fact, people care very much about the goats. (laughs) So it's a mix: You want to listen to some of it, but you don't want that to be the main thing guiding what you do."
Severance season 2 finale airs on Thursday exclusively on Apple TV+.
