A new update on Ahsoka Season 2 has come to light. According to Eman Esfandi, who plays Ezra Bridger on the show, filming of Ahsoka Season 2 has already started. His confirmation revealed that the production had started ahead of schedule. In December 2024, season 2 of Ahsoka was set to start production around April 2025, but it looks like the next season is already in the works.

This new update was revealed when Eman Esfandi reposted his friend Josh Hash's Instagram story in which he congratulated Esfandi on the launch of his new podcast, Keepings of the Fire. Hash's story had a picture of Eman clicked right before he was about to pop open a bottle of champagne, probably to celebrate his podcast launch. Along with the image, Hash had written,

Congrats @emanesfandi on launching your podcast @keepersofthefire & kicking off ahsoka season 2

followed by a party emoji.

Instagram stories are not visible after twenty-four hours of posting, but Star Wars Holocron on X posted a screenshot of the story share.

What to expect from Ahsoka Season 2?

Much detail is not available about Ahsoka Season 2, but it is being filmed in the UK instead of Los Angeles, where the first season was shot. This implies possible changes in scenery and methods of filming. The second season is going to continue the storyline after the events of season 1.

Most information about the cast, story, and crew is kept secret. Ray Stevenson played Baylan Skoll in the first season. The actor has unfortunately passed away, and Rory McCann, known for Game of Thrones, will be taking on the role of the Dark Jedi. There had been rumors that Padmé Amidala might be featured in Ahsoka Season 2, but nothing has been confirmed by the creators yet.

Dave Filoni returns as showrunner and executive producer for Ahsoka Season 2. The returning cast includes Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla.

Ahsoka Season 1, made as a spin-off from The Mandalorian, came out in 2023, and a second season was announced in January 2024. The first season had eight episodes and received a lot of love. It was received so well that it had 14 million views in the first week. Fans have high expectations for Ahsoka Season 2 since the first season made the show the most-watched title on Disney+ in the first week of launch.

Release dates for Ahsoka Season 2 are not out yet. As confirmed by Eman Esfandi's story reshare, production for the second season has started in the UK. Season 1 of Ahsoka is currently streaming on Disney+, and the second season will be released on the same platform.
