The FX series, The Bear, premiered back in 2022, and it has had a chokehold on fans since then. Set in Chicago, Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) will be coming back to our screens with his sous-chef Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri). Whether or not she'll still be his sous-chef, considering the secret new job offer that Sydney receives in Season 3, is yet to be seen.

Ayo Edebiri is an outstanding actor, as is apparent from her performance as Sydney Adamu, but apart from being an actor, she also moonlights as a brilliant writer, director, and creator. In conversation with Cultured, Edebiri revealed that, along with being a part of the cast, she has taken up a new role on The Bear, as she has written one of the episodes in Season 4.

Here's everything we know about Ayo Edebiri's new role on The Bear Season 4 so far.

Ayo Edebiri, who plays Sydney Adamu on the FX restaurant drama The Bear, is not just a brilliant actor bringing complex characters to life on screen. She has won a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award, among others, for her role as Sydney Adamu.

However, apart from being an inspirational actor of The Bear Season 4, Ayo Edebiri has also taken up the role of a writer on the show. In conversation with Cultured, where she was also talking to her close friend Remy Youssef (Succession), Edebiri revealed that she had also written an episode for Season 4 of the show.

"Each season I’ve gotten to do different things. Last season I directed for the first time and this season I’ve written an episode. It’s been a minute since I’ve written for TV, and I’ve learned so much since the last time—even something as simple as knowing what it’s like to shoot an overnight. So, my episode will be taking place during the day."

It was revealed that in Season 3, she made her directorial debut with Episode 6, titled Napkins, which featured Tina Marrero's (played by Liza Colón-Zayas) journey and how she ended up working with Mikey (Michael) Berzatto (played by Jon Bernthal, The Punisher) at his restaurant.

When talking about her directorial debut at the show during the press conference, Edebiri mentioned that:

"Directing was a blast. I really loved it. It’s like a dream to get to work with our crew as an actor. And so then, I guess by extension of directing that feeling was only amplified. I was just so impressed and so moved every day."

It will be exciting to see which episode Ayo Edebiri is responsible for as the writer, but knowing Edebiri's skills in front of and behind the camera (a master of all trades), it will definitely be spectacular.
