The Netflix limited series, co-created by Stephen Graham, has been one of the most acclaimed series, breaking multiple streaming records for British TV.

Stephen Graham, actor and co-creator of the show, is revealed to be contending for the Outstanding Lead Actor (Limited series) category in the 2025 Emmy nominations for his portrayal of Jamie's father, Eddie Miller. Graham has delivered one of the most powerful performances of his career as Eddie's father, a working-class man who has to grapple with the consequences of the horrific crime committed by his 13-year-old. His position as a parent to this child has been responsible for sparking some really important conversations in today's socio-cultural milieu.

Owen Cooper, who plays Eddie Cooper in Adolescence, has been revealed to be campaigning for the title of Supporting Actor (Limited) Category in the 2025 Emmy nominations. It is hard to predict which of these submissions will make it to the final nominees list, but Owen Cooper is reported to be a frontrunner in this category for certain.

This 15-year-old actor has mastered the art of holding his audience's attention in the tightest grip possible. Cooper has delivered a raw performance as the troubled 13-year-old boy, that too, with extraordinary fragility and depth. Every little action, word, movement, and expression coming from this young actor hits the audience right on spot.

Adolescence has also submitted the names of Erin Doherty, Christine Tremarco, and Ashley Walters as competing for Supporting Actress in a Limited Series and Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, respectively, for the Emmy 2025 nominations. Erin Doherty plays the Psychologist Briony Ariston, who is assigned to Eddie's case. Detective Investigator Luke Bascombe, played by Walters, and Termarco's Manda Miller, who plays Eddie's mom, are both added to this list for their brilliant performances in this one-take gripping series.

Directed by Philip Barantini, Adolescence follows the story of a 13-year-old boy who has committed a heinous crime against one of his schoolmates. The idea behind this narrative, an examination of some quite prominent themes revolving around the toxicity that kids, especially young men, are vulnerable to in this era of radicalization, was conceived by Graham himself and written in collaboration with Jack Thorne, in hopes of starting important conversations.

It will be interesting to see if the actors from the gripping limited series make it to the Emmy nominations list, but we'll have to wait for July to find that out.
