Severance Season 2 Actor Injured During Filming

The Severance Season 2 finale, 'The Cold Harbor,' aired in the US on the evening of March 20 and globally on March 21. Leaving the viewers with a major cliffhanger, the Severance actor Adam Scott, in conversation with GQ, talked about his fight scene with Mr. Drummond.

There weren't any physical fights filmed in the first two seasons, except in the Severance Season 2 finale episode. The fight sequence between Mark and Mr. Drummond, the first of its kind, left Mark bloody and battered throughout the rest of the finale episode. The fight scene took place in a small hallway, and even though Scott had practiced the scene repeatedly, he got injured during it. Even though this could possibly have been a medical emergency for Scott, the take was so great that director Stiller made the executive decision to keep it. Scott said that:

I mean, the truly dangerous stuff that requires skill was stunts, and they were incredible. I did hit my head on a wall at one point. Afterwards, I was like, “Wait, wait, wait,” because I got slammed into the wall. I was supposed to bring my arm up—we practiced it over and over again—but I just got caught on my suit. [We] called a doctor and all that stuff. Ben [Stiller] was making sure I’m OK, then he came up to me a little later and he goes, [whispers] “By the way, so good,” so it’s in the show.

Ultimately, even though Scott ended up getting injured in this scene in Severance Season 2, his character, Mark, won the fight sequence against Mr. Drummond. It goes to show that even though the fight sequence between Mark and Mr. Drummond was dangerous for Mark, director Stiller's decision to keep the take left the audience with a much more impactful effect.

The Severance Season 2 finale cliffhanger left fans with many questions. So, it's good news that the Apple TV show has been renewed for a third season.
