Netflix released The Circle Season 7 Episode 5 on September 18, 2024. The fifth episode, Circle Wedding Crashers, featured "Secret Profile Swapping" between two players, Rachel and Madelyn.

Rachel is a fake persona played by Deb, whereas Madelyn is a real person who joined The Circle Season 7 as herself. Hence, after the profile swapping, Madelyn will be catfishing and appear as Rachel, while Rachel (already a catfish) will be catfishing as Madelyn until the next blocking.

"Okay, so I'm Madelyn. I'm flirting. Oh. I hope I don't have to sext. Oh. I'm a catfish who's catfishing. I am catfish squared right now. I am a double catfish. Alright, I can’t believe I wanna talk to myself, but Circle, take me to a chat with Rachel (now played by Madelyn,)" confessed Deb, aka Rachel, aka Madelyn.

The Circle Season 7 Episode 5: Rachel is now Madelyn - Madelyn is now Rachel

The Circle's fifth episode started with the narrator, Michelle Buteau, describing a new twist of the show.

"A 54-year-old catfish trading places with an OnlyFans model? This is the only body swap comedy you wanna see this year. Take it away ladies, Happy Freaky Friday."

Deb, played by Rachel, then acknowledged that she would have to be "Madelyn" till the subsequent blocking of the show.

Madelyn, who had to present herself as "Rachel," shared her concerns that she didn't know anything about Rachel's persona.

Both Madelyn and Rachel then explored their "new profiles." Deb, aka Rachel, felt that Madelyn was "hot," whereas Madelyn thought Rachel was "obviously very smart," as her profile mentioned her job in - Higher ed tech sales.

Deb, aka Rachel, told the cameras about how Madelyn "loves yoga" and she "loves yogurt."

Seeing the complexity of the situation and "secret profile swapping" with Rachel, Madelyn thought,

"I cannot imagine Rachel trying to talk to Andy as me. I feel like Andy's gonna know for sure that something is up. Miss Goody Two-Shoes is playing an OnlyFans model. What could freaking go wrong?"

Deb told the cameras that, since she was Madelyn, she would be "flirting." She said she had become "a catfish who's catfishing" - a double catfish.

Later, Deb, aka Rachel, now catfishing as Madelyn (after secret profile swapping), initiated a private chat with Rachel, who Madelyn now plays.

"Girrrl this is insane. I'm not sure what to do, but I do know we need to work together to stay in the game. #GirlSquadSwitch," messaged Rachel (aka Madelyn).

Madelyn (aka Rachel) replied,

"I cannot believe this happened. I was literally shocked, but I think we can make this work. Who do you have alliances with, and who do you have beef with? #FullTransparency."

Deb (Rachel) thought Madelyn was thinking "the same thing" as herself. She told Madelyn that Gianna was her number one, i.e., #Rachanna. Along with Jadejha, they were part of "TripleThreat." She shared that her beef was with "#TheBros," i.e., Andy and Kevin was "sus."

After learning of Rachel's alliances and "beef," Madelyn confessed that everybody that Rachel "had beef with" was who Madelyn liked.

"I kinda figured Gianna was your number one since you stuck up for her today in the #CircleChat. Andy is my #CircleHusband. Our couple name is #Andelyn. I want to go ahead and apologize about how spicy those chats might be. #GetThoseSexyPhotosReady," messaged Madelyn.

Madelyn and Rachel (Deb) continued their private chat as they discussed their strategy for talking to the rest of The Circle players.
