Paramount Global has released a new trailer for the new prequel series for 'Dexter: Original Sin', showing Dexter Morgan's journey from a seemingly normal young man to the notorious serial killer seen in the original series. The series includes hints as to how Dexter Morgan survived being shot in the chest in the New Blood.
'Dexter: Original Sin' is an upcoming crime drama mystery television series created by Clyde Phillips. The show is set to hit screens on 15 December 2024 on Showtime and will continue the story of a fictional serial killer.
'Dexter: Original Sin' will capture the early days of the budding killer whose kill number keeps rising while he is still in the police force. The new series will connect both the prequel and the sequel of the Dexter franchise.
Theories associated with the New
'Dexter: Original Sin'
We thought the saga of Dexter Morgan ended when his son shot him in 'Dexter: New Blood'. But a new trailer for the upcoming prequel series, 'Dexter: Original Sin', however, shows that he at least survives to get to the hospital.
The Original idea was a spin-off about Harrison Morgan before Showtime settled on the Dexter saga during his early years. Patrick Gibson stars in the title role, exploring Dexter's origin story. There is a high possibility of us getting to see the past through Dexter's memories as he battles in the hospital for his life.
Up until this point not much is known about how much Michael C. Hall will be involved in Original Sin, but what we do know is that he will make a cameo and narrate the whole series. The flashbacks of Dexter's history are related to the story of the previous series.
The new series may put forward more information about the bodies connected to a box of blood slides from the time when we first met Dexter in the original series.
'Dexter: Original Sin’s plot revolves around a student who turns into an avenging serial killer in 1991 Miami. When his violent urges become too much to ignore, he must learn to control his inner darkness.

What does 'Dexter: Original Sin' show in its official trailer?
'Dexter: Original Sin' trailer reveals Michael C. Hall returning as Dexter's inner voice to narrate the early years of Dexter. Set in Miami in 1991, the series follows a young Dexter, played by Patrick Gibson, who is unable to control his violent tendencies.
The series will highlight Dexter's journey from a student to an avenging serial killer. When his dark desires cannot be ignored, Dexter must find a way to control his inner darkness. Things get tougher for the young Dexter as he joins the forensics internship with the Miami Metro Police Department. The trailer has done a good job of aligning 'Dexter: Original Sin' with Dexter: New Blood, including all the key moments from the last series finale. In the trailer, we can see Dexter lying in the snow wounded, after being shot by his son Harrison and being presumed dead.
However, in a relatively short scene, Dexter ends up in an emergency room as his life flashes before his eyes. Casting of the show Molly Brown, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Christina Milian, James Martinez, and special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar with Patrick Dempsey.
