Kaos is largely based on the storylines of several Greek mythical beings including Zeus's fellow gods and family members. The cast is packed with other decorated and budding actors for Kaos. The hot-headed, resident bad boy and King of the Underworld 'Hades' will be played by David Thewlis.

Joining in as Zeus' gorgeous wife, Hera, is Janet McTeer who is famous for her role in the dark fantasy drama Ozark. Other cast mates playing the heavenly beings include Cliff Curtis (Poseidon), Nabhaan Rizwan (Dionysus), Raskie Ayola (Persephone), and Stanley Townsend (Minos).

The mortals thus far include Killian Scott (Orpheus), Aurora Perrineau (Riddy), Misia Butler (Caneus), and Leila Farzad (Ari). Kaos will reportedly feature Billie Piper (known from Doctor Who) and Suzy Eddie Izzard (known from Ocean's Twelve). However, their roles on Kaos remain strictly under wraps for the moment.

What is Netflix's Kaos about?

Per the show's official synopsis from Netflix, Kaos revolves around Zeus (Goldblum) who benevolently enjoys life as the bigwig in the kingdom of Gods. Being the king, he's naturally elevated and every day for him is a bed of roses. However, he's in for a rude awakening when he discovers signs of aging - a wrinkle.

This triggers a wave of paranoia within Zeus' mind as chaos also starts to unravel on Earth. Zeus goes on to become cathartic and unpredictable and naturally, the earthlings face the aftermath. Amid the storming thoughts of his mind, Goldblum's character is reminded of a prophecy narrating his downfall from grace.

Hence, he becomes all the more agitated and determined to prevent it. The show's writer Charlie Covell revealed the primary themes of the plot. They described,

"Power, abuse of power, love, death, family, and dysfuntional family."

Furthermore, they compared it to another hit political drama, Succession. But mentioned that instead of "grappling for control of a media company" the characters of the show are playing with higher stakes.

The trailer begins with a heavenly tone of violins and a fluff of clouds that set the tone for the rest of the video. The scene shifts to Goldblum flaunting gold bling and an all-white chic ensemble. One minute there's complete serenity next - just pure chaos and screaming! The trailer of Kaos ends with Goldblum saying,

"Honor me. That's a command not a request..."

Will there be a season 2 of Kaos?

From the trailer of the show, viewers can very much expect a uniquely concocted story based on the amalgamation of ancient Greek mythology and modern political fiction. With actors like Goldblum and McTeer in the mix, the show might be en route to a whopping success.

Per Variety, Covell (who also wrote The End of the F**king World) confirms that the 1st season of the show is mostly based on Zeus' narrative. However, should Netflix push for renewal there's already an alleged storyline prepared for season 2 with many things in mind for a potential new season.

Kaos might just become one of the greatest hit series in the plethora of shows centered around the same genre on Netflix. Viewers can anticipate a stellar performance and intriguing storyline with Kaos.
