Bad Thoughts, an original dark-comedy TV series developed by and starring comedian Tom Segura, has been slated to debut on Netflix in May 2025. The series will provide a mix of disturbing humor and engrossing storytelling.

In short, Bad Thoughts is a series of weird stories, all probing strange notions of morality, society, and how tiny decisions can lead to huge outcomes. The first teaser has just come out, and viewers can already sense weird but interesting situations.

The series will only have six episodes, covering tales like an alien invasion, snipers on covert missions, radicalized elementary schoolers, and even a violent kitchen standoff. This way, the acclaimed comedian invites viewers into his darkly comedic world.

The news of Tom Segura producing a comedy series came out last year, which is a result of his growing popularity and success in the entertainment industry. The comedian appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and shed light on his Netflix series:

"It's a collection of short stories. Kind of like you watch the old "Twilight Zone"... They would kind of introduce a theme or a topic. These are all twisted, kind of messed up."

Segura also mentioned that his upcoming series would be like "dark comedic Black Mirror". The writer and comedian also revealed the reason why he named it Bad Thoughts: his idea of making this show was rejected by many.

The first teaser for Netflix's Bad Thoughts is out, and the release date has also been confirmed as May 13, 2025. To shape each episode with his signature comedic style, Tom Segura is involved as an actor, director, executive producer, and even narrator in this project.

Segura is joined by Rami Hachache and Jeremy Konner as the directors of the series. Other creative minds include Ryan Hall, Molly Mandel, Craig Gerard, and Matthew Zinman.

Interestingly, Segura's wife and comedian Christina Pazsitzky is also seen in the first teaser of Bad Thoughts, igniting curiosity among fans. Per Variety, Netflix considers this TV series as a potential award contender for the next Emmy awards.

Additionally, the only person who has watched Bad Thoughts is Tom Segura's mother. The comedian explained that she didn't give a positive review, and during the same appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he shared:

"She said 'If the show comes out, I will never leave the house so people don't see me. Is there any way you can get them to change it?'"

As the talk show host couldn't control his laugh, Segura added that his mother even called his dark-comedy show "horrible". However, fans are excited about the show as they can't wait to see how Segura has mixed his style in a TV series.
