An official confirmation is yet to follow.
Celebrities open up about Stranger Things Season 5
The upcoming release of Stranger Things Season 5 is as highly anticipated by the audience as by the showrunners and the cast members themselves. Director Shawn Levy has stated that the final season is bigger than all of the previous seasons, especially the fourth season, and has called for some serious cinematic storytelling. According to Variety, he stated,
"There’s no way to be contiguous with Season 4, and not, frankly, expand scale and depth. It’s major, major, cinematic storytelling that happens to be called a TV series. ‘Stranger Things 5‘ is as big as any of the biggest movies that we see.”
David Harbour, famous for playing the beloved character of Hopper, revealed in the Happy Sad Confused Podcast:
"I know where we net out and it’s very, very moving. That is the term I will use…It’s a hell of an undertaking, too. I mean, the set pieces and the things in the scripts that we saw are bigger than anything we’ve done in the past.”
Milli Bobby Brown, the actress who portrays the once enigmatic and now affectionate character Eleven, stated to Women's Wear Daily:
"I think I’m ready. It’s been such a huge factor in part of my life, but it’s like graduating high school, it’s like senior year. You’re ready to go and blossom and flourish and you’re grateful for the time you’ve had, but it’s time to create your own message and live your own life.”
Stranger Things season 5 time jump theory explained
In the fourth season of Stranger Things, the majority of the cast did everything they could to protect Hawkins from the evil forces of the Upside Down. On an upbeat note, the fourth season concluded with a cliffhanger that suggested Vecna might completely subdue Hawkins. The group was seen standing near a cliff and gazing across a horizon that was darkly shadowed in the final shot. This occurred in the spring of 1986.
Beginning in the autumn of 1987, the fifth season will have to answer a number of questions about everything that happened in between the time jumps. With the battle against Upside Down already raging ferociously, the action of the Netflix series may start in medias res. One can assume that the Hawkins shown in season five may differ from the one shown in season four.
