Netflix has recently unveiled the official trailer for The Eternaut, an upcoming six-episode sci-fi thriller set to premiere globally on April 30, 2025. The show is based on the iconic graphic novel by Héctor G. Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López against the backdrop of Buenos Aires, where an unprecedented and lethal snowfall devastates the population.

The narrative follows Juan Salvo, portrayed by Argentine actor, Ricardo Darín, as he leads a group of survivors amidst an apocalyptic situation. They eventually encounter aliens who are being guided by an invisible force ruling the world in The Eternaut.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of how very few people survive the catastrophe by trapping themselves inside houses under protective layers. They suffered adverse conditions while going out during dire needs. However, when Juan Salvo decides to go into the dangerous land filled with "toxic snow" to find out about his daughter, it becomes the major incident of the story.

The trailer opens depicting a normal day in the lives of the characters turning upside down when they hear a sound and realize that the window glass is freezing like snow. They learn that the town has fallen victim to the toxic snow from the sky. The snow is contaminated to a level that it is killing people coming in contact. This compels them to stay inside, under protective layers and masks, as anything they touch or are exposed to becomes dangerous.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of the twist when the protagonist journeys in search of his daughter, packed under a thick protective suit. However, he gets to know that "there is something more" that has put the entire town in a life-and-death situation. Amidst all of this, several subplots of personal rivalry seem to be escalating and becoming uglier than ever. The entire town is also anticipating some help but doubts if there is any.

The trailer ends intriguingly, showing an absurd creature with multiple legs crawling toward Juan while he shoots a gun at it.
