What happened in the previous episode of NCIS: Sydney?

In NCIS: Sydney season 2 episode 5, titled Shucked, the team dealt with the case of Rueben Daniels, a U.S. Navy petty officer, whose body was found on a beach. Investigation showed that Rueben had been frozen for several days before being dumped there.

His body was also covered in the semen of a rare seafood called abalone. The agents started looking into Rueben’s roommate, Craig, who denied knowing what happened to him. However, they found a photo of a woman, Kim Dang, on Rueben’s phone.

Kim was part of a human trafficking ring at a strip club called Rezzy’s. She and other women were tricked into coming to Australia on fake student visas, only to work in the club. The club’s owners traded women for abalone, which was used as currency.

It turned out that Craig and Rueben had stolen some abalone to try and help Kim’s sister, Ahn, who had gone missing after her visa expired. The traffickers found out about their plan and killed Rueben, making Craig keep quiet.

With Kim’s help, NCIS went undercover at the club, shut it down, and rescued Ahn and the other women. Amid the case, the team also dedicated a day to Blue Gleeson, who did not know her real birthday. The special moment only brought the group closer as they danced and enjoyed together.
