In this episode, the team investigated the suspected suicide of a former U.S. Navy SEAL officer, Pete Levinson, in the Brute Force wellness retreat in Australia. What was supposed to be a reunion of former SEAL friends turned out to be a nightmare.

While the initial evidence pointed towards a suicide by hanging, the team uncovered further evidence, such as strangulation marks on his neck that indicated it was a murder. The wellness resort was owned by Chief Finn McKay, who had known U.S. Navy SEAL officer Pete Levinson since their SEAL training days. Chief Finn McKay quit his training after a trainee called Victor Austin died during an exercise routine in Hell Week. However, Pete did not quit; he went ahead with his training to finally become a lieutenant.

Upon further investigation, the team found a bunch of steroids from Pete's fridge which looked like he was operating an illegal drug ring. The team wanted to talk to his fellow SEAL comrades but they did not seem to cooperate initially except Finn. However, soon the team uncovered that Pete was not just an innocent victim but also a whistleblower who was trying to expose the illegal steroid ring that his friends ran.

It was Austin's family that asked Pete to expose the illegal drug ring that his friends were running that took Austin's life years back. Pete knew that Austin's medical reports were tampered with. He swapped his blood with that of Austin so that steroid-induced death looked like a natural death on the autopsy reports. Thus, Austin took steroids to be stronger and perform better during training, however, it backfired and he was killed due to the illegal toxic substances that Pete's friends sold. Pete was young and naive, and he did all this to protect his friends. But, now he was determined to gather evidence against his friends who supplied steroids to Austin.

During the wellness retreat, Pete was on a mission; he secretly recorded his friend's conversation via a wire. However, his friends found the wire and strangled him to death before he was hanged by them. There were about four people in the group among whom two were drug dealers and another was Finn, who had no clue about the secret dealings.

When Pete's friends were strangling him with a wire, Finn's pregnant wife witnessed the entire murder sequence. She overheard the arguments among them and even though Finn was not there, she did not want him to fall in trouble.

Finn and Pete's criminal friends took Evie Cooper and NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson hostage but Finn cleverly convinced them to let go of the NCIS agents leave. Finn was unaware of the entire incident and hardly knew about what happened to Austin. Finally, Finn and Evie managed to get hold of the two culprits in a deadly fight. The episode ended with Finn expressing his guilt over not uncovering the truth before and Evie joking with an injured DeShawn so that he feels better.
