What happened in NCIS: Sydney Season 2 Episode 2: A quick recap

NCIS: Sydney Season 2 Episode 2, 'Fire in the Hole,' focuses on the death of U.S. Navy Lieutenant, Brad Shields. The episode begins with a girl named Willow discovering his dead body when she goes to get her ball.
Soon after the body is found, the investigation begins. Even though Shields was a reservist and not on active duty at the time of his death, the NCIS team decided to continue with the case. Since Mackey and JD are away, DeShawn and Evie take the lead.
The first thing the officers solve is why Brad was wearing a pirate costume when he was found dead. Turns out he was just doing another job of entertaining people on a special tourist cruise to earn extra money.
When the team called the boat, someone pretended to be Brad by answering the call, raising suspicion that the impersonator might be the killer. DeShawn and Evie then go undercover on the cruise hosting a pirate-themed wedding. The duo pretends to be a photographer and a celebrant.
However, problems escalate when the cruise is hijacked by terrorists who threaten to kill one guest every hour if their demand to release three prisoners isn't met. Not only this, they also reveal that Brad was just an unfortunate casualty.
Soon, DeShawn’s true identity is revealed, and he is thrown into the water after being shot. With DeShawn's fate uncertain, it looked like Evie would have to handle the situation by herself.
Thankfully, DeShawn climbs back to the boat and tries to connect with Mackey. At the same time, he discovers a major threat—the ship was rigged with explosives and was headed toward the USS Perez. At first, it seems the terrorists aimed to bomb the naval vessel, but JD realizes the true intention.
The terrorists wanted to trick Perez into firing at them, which would ultimately result in a huge international crisis. While DeShawn and Evie helped free the hostages, JD rushed to the ship to steer it away.
Mackey helped stop the naval ship from firing and the NCIS team was able to handle the situation. As the NCIS: Sydney Season 2 episode 2 comes to an end, Evie pushes the terrorist leader into the water, leading him to die.
