The series focuses on Special Agent-in-Charge Michelle Mackey and her team as they encounter a high-stakes case in every episode. The second season of the show was initially set to premiere on CBS on January 31, 2025. However, the network changed its broadcast plans later.

NCIS: Sydney Season 2 episode 1 has now been delayed by a week, and will be aired on February 7, 2025. Here are all the interesting details you need to gear up for the new season’s premiere.

The release date and time of NCIS: Sydney Season 2 Episode 1

NCIS: Sydney Season 2 Episode 1 will premiere on CBS on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 8 PM ET/PT. The episode is arriving a week after its originally intended date as CBS decided to air the Inside the Grammys special event on January 31, 2025.

What to expect from NCIS: Sydney Season 2 Episode 1?

Being the season premiere, the episode will likely resolve the cliffhanger from the previous installment’s finale. Jim "JD" Dempsey is in a tough spot as he earlier tried to trade Ana, a wanted criminal for his kidnapped son.

However, Ana ended up escaping after killing the kidnapper and might pose a threat to the team in season 2 episode 1. The episode would also explore the possible connection of Colonel Rankin with the criminal world, as his phone number has been found on Ana’s contact list.

Meanwhile, the team would have a new mission at hand as an assassin is on the run from the authorities. The official logline for the episode reads:

“The team commits to do whatever it takes to crack the case of a rogue assassin on the run during NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson's chaotic first day as boss.”

The story so far in NCIS: Sydney

The series follows a new team of American and Australian agents as they solve crimes connected to the Navy. The first season starts with a US Navy sailor dying from radiation poisoning during an AUKUS event at Sydney Harbour.

NCIS agents Michelle Mackey and DeShawn Jackson team up with Australian Federal Police officers JD Dempsey and Evie Cooper to investigate the case. They discover a group of spies who are trying to steal secret Navy information and are able to stop them after an action-packed fight.

In another case, the team finds a Navy officer dead in a waterhole. Their investigation leads to an animal smuggling ring involving Navy staff. The team also deals with the murder of a former Navy SEAL whose arm was found inside a shark.

They uncover the truths about stolen drone data, a blackmail scheme, and a CIA cover-up. Meanwhile, the team members face some personal challenges too. They investigate the death of a sailor connected to an old Navy Cross medal.

As the season continues, Evie goes undercover to take down a drug cartel linked to her past. In the season finale, JD's son is kidnapped by an assassin pretending to be a clown.

The team learns the kidnapping was part of a bigger plan to trade off a wanted criminal. JD eventually finds a surprising connection between the criminal and Colonel Rankin, a military officer, ending the season with some burning questions.
